
About this role
At Unilever Food Solutions, we search for an Executive Chef to own and champion culinary know-how, solution innovations, and demand creation. We partner with hotels, restaurants, caterers, and cafeterias to create menus good for diners and the planet.
This role is responsible for culinary expertise and creating innovative applications of the Unilever Food Solutions product portfolio to support business plans. The Executive Chef provides chef support for developing and executing business plans as part of a cross-functional team to deliver sales targets and profitability.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this country leadership position works closely with Sales and Marketing. The Executive Chef leads culinary know-how development and decisions, with 5 direct reports (sous chefs) and dot line management of 10+ field technical chefs co-creating demand with the sales team.
This role will lead culinary innovation and development, collaborating with marketing and sales teams to create new products aligned with culinary trends. The Executive Chef is expected to represent the Unilever Food Solutions brand professionally and utilize culinary expertise to support customers and drive business growth.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in culinary innovation and product development within the food service industry.
- Strong track record of developing and executing business plans that drive sales and profitability.
- Experience leading a culinary team, including management of sous chefs and field technical chefs.
- Deep knowledge of culinary trends and ability to translate insights into menu solutions.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to represent a global brand professionally and provide expert culinary support to customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative culinary strategies aligned with market trends, customer needs, and Unilever Food Solutions' business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve food products, recipes, and menu solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations, culinary workshops, and training sessions for customers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to develop profitable and appealing menus for customers.
- Monitor and analyze culinary trends, consumer preferences, and market insights to translate into actionable recommendations.
- Lead the development of innovative culinary concepts and products that align with market trends and business objectives.
- Develop and implement a training program that empowers and stretches the team in chef skills, presentation, and commercial acumen.
- Provide expert culinary support and advice to customers.
