About this role

The primary responsibility of the Pot Washer is to perform a variety of janitorial duties and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures. This role ensures kitchen operations run smoothly through meticulous cleaning.

Daily tasks include setting up and operating 3-compartment sinks, cleaning kettles and tilt skillets, and cleaning, sanitizing, sorting, and storing pots, pans, and sheet pans. Pot washers receive soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware, placing them on the automatic dishwashing conveyor belt. They also remove washed items, stack them by size and likeness, and return unsatisfactory items for a second wash.

Additional duties involve scrubbing walls and trash cans, washing baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables, and cutting boards. Sweep and mop all floors, coolers, freezers, and wash floor mats, while transporting garbage from kitchen areas to the trash room. Polish silver, copper, and brass as needed in all areas.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Working knowledge of all cleaning equipment and proper chemical usage
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to operate dish machine
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
  • Nevada Food Handlers’ Certification

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-compartment sinks
  • Clean kettles and tilt skillets
  • Clean, sanitize, sort, and store pots, pans, and sheet pans in proper locations
  • Receive soiled dinnerware, flatware, and glassware and place on automatic dishwashing conveyor belt
  • Remove washed dinnerware, flatware, and glassware from dishwasher and stack by size and likeness
  • Break down, load, unload, and sort all dishes, glassware, and flatware
  • Sweep and mop floors, coolers, freezers, and wash floor mats
  • Transport garbage from kitchen areas to trash room
