About this role
We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Pot Washer to join our team. As a crucial member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in our busy kitchen environment. Your role ensures smooth operations through meticulous cleaning practices.
You will clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment using proper techniques and cleaning agents. Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure it functions properly and efficiently. Sort and organize clean kitchenware, returning items to their designated storage areas.
Assist in maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness, including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Report any damaged equipment or potential safety hazards to the kitchen manager. Assist with basic food prep tasks as needed, such as washing and peeling vegetables. Thrive in a fast-paced environment with physical stamina and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate and maintain dishwashing equipment efficiently
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots and equipment
- Attention to detail in ensuring thorough cleaning and organization of kitchen items
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferred
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
