As Sous Chef at Liberty Kitchen, support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations by coordinating service execution, prep production, and staffing for smooth shifts. Step in to lead all kitchen operations during the Executive Chef’s absence. Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items through recipes, portion control, and plating standards.

Uphold food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance by monitoring food handling and kitchen procedures. Manage inventory, ordering, and food storage to control waste and ensure product freshness. Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff with hands-on coaching and clear expectations.

Requirements

  • 2 years in a Sous Chef or similar kitchen leadership role, with experience supervising line cooks, prep teams, and service execution
  • Valid Food Handler Certification and TABC Certification required
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, waste reduction, and basic food and labor cost controls
  • Demonstrated ability to lead line cooks and prep teams, provide hands-on training, and support daily kitchen execution
  • Demonstrated proficiency with kitchen management and operational systems, including inventory platforms, scheduling tools, and standard business applications
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 45 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift
