Scales, mixes and bakes various bakery goods while maintaining proper inventory levels of products. Ensures the cleanliness and appearance of the bakery department meets standards, generally working 6-8 hour shifts between 3:00 am and 10:00 pm.

Produce bakery products for retail stores by mixing recipes, setting up racks and pans, operating machines, ovens, and proof boxes. Mix icing or other toppings by scaling and measuring ingredients, operating a mixer, and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. bags of sugar, shortening, and flour. Dump toppings into storage containers and set up cakes by icing between layers for numerous items at a time.

Ice cakes by combining icing, bordering, and placing decorations, then package by placing in boxes and label using DiGi machine for scanning. Display products on shelves in an appealing manner using FIFO for rotation and face merchandise. Seeks opportunities to welcome, engage, serve and thank customers with friendly, enthusiastic service.

Take orders by phone and in person, including special orders using air brush machine, tubes, tips, and personalizing cakes by writing desired words. Assist customers with inquiries on pricing, ingredients, availability, and advertised merchandise. Maintains clean, safe and sanitary bakery area and equipment using pressure hose and other methods.

Ensures quality of goods by following code dating procedures and legal regulations for labeling and packaging. Keeps manager informed of stock levels and accurately fills out inventory and production sheets. Be instrumental in making a real impact in communities served, embodying the purpose every day.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. bags of sugar, shortening, and flour
  • Ability to scale, measure ingredients and read recipes
  • Ability to operate mixer, oven, proof box, and air brush machine
  • Knowledge of code dating procedures and packaging regulations
  • Comfortable with early morning shifts starting at 3:00 am
  • Skill in inputting data for labeling and scanning
