About this role

As a Care Worker in Hotel Services at Uniting Goonellabah, you'll play a key role in supporting the independence, dignity, and comfort of our residents. Your work in catering will create a positive and enriching daily experience for seniors in our care.

Located in the beautiful Goonellabah township, our facility features four separate households, each with up to 20 residents. You'll work consistent morning shifts from 6am to 2pm or 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with the option to work weekends if interested.

Your primary focus will be enhancing resident wellbeing through nutritious meals and support. You'll prepare quality meals, ensure safe food handling practices, and contribute to a thriving community where residents can enjoy meaningful and enjoyable activities.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Minimum 3 months experience in hospitality or food services – catering, cooking, or kitchenhand roles
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a passion for preparing quality, nutritious meals
  • Previous experience in community care or aged care is a bonus
  • Empathetic, adaptable, and resourceful with a commitment to delivering excellent service
  • Ability to work in line with Uniting's core values of compassion, respect, boldness, and creativity
