About this role
Big Mamma, the French-Italian restaurant group behind 35 locations across Europe and Dubai, is seeking a Sous Chef to join the team in Barcelona. This role is designed for a leader who will become the Chef of tomorrow, taking charge of the kitchen and contributing to a unique culinary experience.
Day to day, you will participate in the menu change process alongside Executive Chefs, ensuring every dish is executed with speed and precision at the pass. You will manage food cost like a true leader, maintaining zero waste, perfect inventories, and punctual orders while upholding hygiene standards and staff presentation.
As the right hand to the Head Chef, you will plan, organize, and guide the brigata with energy and precision. Your leadership will build harmony within the squad, creating a stimulating and positive work environment through daily training and mentorship.
This role offers a permanent contract with two consecutive days off, competitive salary, and a 30% housing subsidy. You will also enjoy continuous training, internal and international mobility, and a 15% discount at all group restaurants.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent leadership role in a high-volume kitchen
- Deep knowledge of Italian cuisine and ability to execute recipes to group standards
- Strong organizational skills for inventory management, ordering, and food cost control
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse kitchen team
- Commitment to maintaining impeccable hygiene and safety standards
- Fluency in Italian and Spanish or English; Catalan is a plus
- Passion for creating memorable dining experiences and sharing Italian tradition
