Responsible for day-to-day operations and staffing for the kitchen and dining venues of the community. Manage all Culinary Services staff including scheduling, hiring, performance reviews, and corrective action consistent with company policy. Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and state or local health code requirements.

Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels are maintained. Work closely with restaurant manager, front of house and back of house staff to deliver food exceeding expectations. Delegate tasks to maintain kitchen and restaurant areas at highest levels of cleanliness and quality.

Work in a supportive environment that provides advancement opportunities and promotes healthy work-life balance. Collaborate with staff and residents on recipe and menu development based on preferences and budgets. Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years culinary experience in hospitality
  • Experience managing kitchen and dining operations in senior living communities
  • Ability to work all stations in kitchen and dining room as needed
  • Proficiency in maintaining department customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores
  • Knowledge of state and local health code requirements for food preparation and storage
  • Skills in budget management, inventory control, and vendor relationship maintenance
  • Experience in menu planning and recipe development based on resident preferences

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all Culinary Services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring, and corrective action
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels are maintained
  • Work with restaurant manager to provide high levels of customer service and create restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff work together to deliver food exceeding residents' expectations
  • Delegate tasks to maintain kitchen and restaurant areas at highest levels of cleanliness and quality
  • Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and health code requirements
  • Manage monthly and annual budgets for Culinary Services department including food, supplies, and labor documentation
  • Plan, prepare, and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
