About this role
This role calls for a creative baking and decorating talent who leads a culinary team in preparing high-quality, consistent pastries across all hotel outlets. You will personally perform key tasks while driving guest satisfaction and maintaining operational budgets.
Day-to-day activities include supervising pastry preparation shifts, inspecting raw and cooked product quality, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food storage standards. You will also develop, design, and create new applications, ideas, and artistic presentations.
As a leader, you will build mutual trust and cooperation among team members, serve as a role model, and oversee employee productivity. You will also solicit feedback, maintain an open-door policy, and address employee concerns to foster a positive work environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
- Exhibits creative baking and decorating talents.
- Ability to lead, influence, and encourage others; demonstrates honesty/integrity and leads by example.
- Proven ability to supervise and manage employees, including training and development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build open, collaborative relationships.
- Knowledge of food preparation handling, storage, and sanitation standards.
- Experience maintaining purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
Responsibilities
- Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
- Assists in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays.
- Maintains food preparation handling and correct storage standards, including purchasing and receiving.
- Supports procedures for food and beverage portion and waste controls.
- Develops, designs, or creates new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
- Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
- Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring quality and meeting customer expectations on a daily basis.
