About this role

The Chef Manager ensures the culinary excellence of the location under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor and District Manager. This role centers on planning, preparing, and directing all meal preparation including catering while developing new recipes and reviewing food processes.

Daily work includes cooking from scratch with local ingredients and continually sourcing ideas to generate additional profit. The Chef Manager plans menus incorporating company themes and the Healthwise Choices Program while establishing efficient food preparation schedules for the entire team.

Leadership duties involve supervising and training all kitchen staff with coaching and delegation to maintain best practices. The position requires complete knowledge of recipes, equipment, service stations, and point of sale systems to provide support wherever needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of recent related experience in the food service industry leading high-volume culinary teams
  • Serve Safe certification

Responsibilities

  • Cook from scratch with local ingredients while continually sourcing and developing new ideas to generate additional profit
  • Plan and develop menus and recipes for the cafeteria and catering events incorporating company promotional themes and the Healthwise Choices Program
  • Establish and implement food preparation schedules for all staff and recipes creating an efficient process for each dish
  • Prepare and direct the preparation of food items for meals, daily specials, and catered events including soups, salads, meats, and desserts
  • Lead a team by providing coaching, training, and delegating tasks while ensuring best practices are followed
  • Ensure high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction while contributing to a work environment conducive to team success
  • Ensure adherence to required safety regulations including proper use of tools, personal protective equipment, and compliance with FoodSafe standards
