
About this role
Legends Global has an opening for Line Cook at The Greek Theatre. Responsible for preparing food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. Must work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining organizational ability to identify and act on duties quickly.
Line Cooks set up stations, collect supplies, and prepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items. They properly label and date items for storage, stock levels for smooth service, and assist with kitchen cleaning and sanitation. Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules.
Employees report to Daily or Nightly Supervisor or Executive Chef in a dynamic team workplace. Greek Theatre Food and Beverage staff are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, requiring union membership. Maintain sanitary work areas, use safe food handling practices, and tolerate high heat.
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances and perform additional duties as requested by Executive Chef or Sous Chef. Close kitchen following checklists and return utensils appropriately. Ensure all storage areas are tidy with products stored correctly.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older with high school diploma or GED
- Current ServSafe certification
- Negative TB test
- At least 1 year experience in food service preparing meals
- Ability to produce quality food in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of sanitary practices
- Positive attitude, customer service oriented
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
- Prepare a variety of foods, meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
- Properly label and date food items for storage
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
- Comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices
