Based onsite at the Bishops Avenue residence, the 2nd Chef role combines culinary excellence with leadership in a luxury setting designed for people over 65. The position runs two days out of seven from 10:00am to 8:00pm for 20 hours per week.

You will lead a talented catering team while managing stock, ordering, and cost control. Daily work includes mentoring staff, maintaining food safety and COSHH compliance, and championing a resident-first culture with consistently high service standards.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Strong focus on frontline operations and resident satisfaction
  • Passion for service excellence and people
  • Strong customer service ethos with genuine passion for creating memorable experiences
  • Catering experience with strong chef skills
  • 2+ years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef ready for the next step

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing catering team to deliver outstanding service
  • Recruit, train, and support staff to maintain excellence and efficiency
  • Manage stock, ordering, and cost control to ensure financial performance
  • Maintain clear communication within the team, with management, and with clients
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, COSHH, health & safety, and legal regulations
  • Champion a resident-first culture with warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Maintain consistently high service standards aligned with brand and hospitality expectations
