Line Cooks handle secondary food production including preparation, cuts, and transformation of raw products. They cook ingredients using methods such as sautéing, grilling, roasting, frying, baking, poaching, steaming, stewing, braising, and smoking while maintaining food quality standards.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years kitchen experience preferred
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure and supervise other cooks during service
  • Personable, friendly and outgoing with excellent customer service skills
  • High energy and strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Handle secondary food production, preparation, cuts and transformation of all raw products using methods including sautéing, grilling, roasting, frying, baking, poaching, steaming, stewing, braising and smoking
  • Maintain a standard of food quality in accordance with guidelines from the Chef de Partie, Sous-Chefs, Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef
  • Perform sauce and soup making, elaborate pastries, basic chocolate work, and hot and cold line cooking in a casual restaurant setting
  • Uphold high levels of kitchen hygiene as per Provincial Standards
  • Work under pressure and supervise other cooks during service
  • Complete other duties as required
