About this role

Hai Hospitality is seeking an experienced Sous / Executive Sous Chef for Uchi Nashville, opening soon. Selected candidates will temporarily relocate to an existing market for training, with lodging provided, in a culture of craft, continuing education, and career advancement.

In this role, you will motivate, mentor, and develop a culinary team while managing overall standards in a high-volume scratch kitchen. You will float through all stations, cook great food, and handle ordering, scheduling, and inventory alongside administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Experienced in high-volume kitchen management
  • Passionate about good food and creating innovative hospitality experiences
  • Practiced in delivering constructive feedback
  • Enthusiastic and celebrational in team successes
  • Possess a strong work ethic
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and restock inventory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and use kitchen equipment safely

Responsibilities

  • Motivate, mentor, and develop a culinary team of cooks and chefs
  • Manage overall culinary standards in a high-volume, high-standard scratch kitchen
  • Assist and float through all kitchen stations as needed
  • Cook great food in a modern kitchen
  • Handle ordering, scheduling, and inventory along with other administrative duties
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
