Reporting to the Site Manager, lead a committed kitchen team in delivering high-quality, nutritious, resident-focused meals. Work collaboratively with care, clinical, and lifestyle teams while engaging regularly with residents. Ensure compliance with protocols and maintain operations within budgetary guidelines.

Requirements

  • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Experience managing kitchen operations and leading teams
  • Knowledge of special dietary needs and aged care food standards
  • Ability to plan and implement catering services with a holistic resident-focused approach
  • Creativity in menu planning and recipe management tools
  • Team mindset, compassion, and can-do attitude
  • Aged care experience desirable
  • Australian Working Rights and valid Police Check or NDIS check

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day supervision of employees in all aspects of food operations
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and sustain a high-performing kitchen team
  • Prepare, plan, and cook various meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
  • Comply with infection control protocols and safe food handling procedures
  • Ensure meals account for resident choices, allergies, and recommendations
  • Support WHS and infection control practices
  • Collaborate with care, clinical, and lifestyle teams
  • Maintain food costs within budgetary guidelines and supervise ordering systems
