As an Event Chef at Blue Plate, prepare and oversee high-quality dishes for off-premises events. Your leadership and expertise ensure seamless execution from food preparation to final plating. Maintain the highest standards of quality, presentation, and service.

Arrive on time dressed per Back of House Dress Code, ready to lead high-volume production. Check in with the Event Supervisor for menu details, timing, and dietary needs. Lead pre-shift meetings to master menu flow and special considerations.

Oversee kitchen setup, food production, plating coordination, and breakdown. Coach staff to follow procedures, manage staffing within budgets, and ensure food safety compliance. Complete event documentation and support team development through training and reviews.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary Arts degree or advanced culinary certification preferred
  • Ability to lead high-volume food production in fast-paced catering environments
  • Proficiency in overseeing off-premises event execution and plating
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
  • Experience coordinating with supervisors on event timing and dietary needs
  • Skills in managing kitchen teams and staffing efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Arrive on time, sign in, dressed per Back of House Dress Code, prepared to lead high-volume food production
  • Check in with Event Supervisor to confirm event details, menu specifications, and special dietary considerations
  • Lead kitchen staff, assign tasks, ensure proper dress and equipment
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting with Event Supervisor to review menu, service style, kitchen flow, and guest considerations
  • Oversee food preparation ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to culinary standards
  • Coordinate with Event Supervisor on plating style, service timing, and special requests
  • Ensure food safety regulations, proper storage, cleanliness, and supervise kitchen breakdown
  • Manage staffing levels, coach staff, monitor timing, and complete event documentation
