About this role

Sifted was founded to reimagine office food as an experience rooted in hospitality, sustainability, and intentionality. We are a workplace food partner providing daily lunch for startups, and we need a Line Cook who can heat up the kitchen in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will work side by side with an experienced chef in our commissary kitchen. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing meats and vegetables, stewarding, and expediting product out the door, while maintaining clear communication with the executive chef and city manager at all times.

Requirements

  • Works well in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Responsive to the needs of clients
  • Desire to learn and cultivate skills in the kitchen
  • Dedicated and responsible team player
  • Ability to work early morning shifts (5:00am - 1:00pm, Monday through Wednesday)
  • Strong knife skills for cleaning and preparing meats and vegetables
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Attention to detail for labeling, organization, and discarding out-of-date product

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and preparing meats and vegetables
  • Stewarding and expediting product out of the door
  • Maintaining clear communication with the executive chef and city manager at all times
  • Keeping station and work areas clean at all times
  • Taking ownership of whatever task is at hand
  • Holding full ownership of labeling and organizing pans and delis
  • Discarding out of date product from common storage areas
  • Assisting with daily deep-clean items and complying with sanitary regulations and safety standards
