About this role
At Cecconi's Restaurant, part of Soho House, a Line Cook II is a critical member of the kitchen team responsible for maintaining one or two stations with seamless preparation of food and sauces. You thrive in fast-paced environments and positively influence the team by demonstrating highly skilled abilities across two stations while remaining calm during busy service.
Day-to-day, you will support daily prep, kitchen maintenance, and inventory when needed, while preparing food items in the pantry, fry station, and other kitchen areas. You will follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the kitchen, paying close attention to cooking temperatures and quality to reduce additional costs.
As a hyper-specialized cook, you are not yet skilled in all stations but have a proven ability to execute all menu items properly from prep to plate on two or more stations. You will work toward specific speed-of-service goals and Soho House Standards, including the 3-8-10 service benchmarks, while assisting with pre- and post-service meetings when requested.
This role offers growth through attendance at Cook House trainings and opportunities to mentor new and existing team members. You will help maintain a welcoming work environment that boosts staff morale and supports the education of others in areas they are looking to develop.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a fast-paced, upscale and approachable environment of professionals.
- Strong understanding of professional cooking with educated knife-handling skills.
- Food handler's certificate.
- Strong communicator able to take direction with a team-player mentality.
- Proactive ability to build professional relationships with all leaders and kitchen team.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proven ability to execute all menu items and properly prepare and deliver top-quality dishes on all stations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain two stations with seamless preparation of food and sauces, assisting Senior Chefs during service.
- Support daily prep, kitchen maintenance, equipment care, and inventory when needed.
- Prepare food items in the pantry, fry station, and other kitchen areas while adhering to allergy requests and specific dish alterations.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications, paying attention to cooking temps and quality to reduce additional costs.
- Set up stations according to Kitchen guidelines and maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area.
- Execute production and a-la-carte dishes, including weekend feast ideas and team meals.
- Work toward speed-of-service goals and Soho House Standards for consistent experience (3-8-10).
- Attend Cook House trainings and support mentoring and education of new and existing team members.
