Line Cook I (Sports & Social)

About this role

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Culinary arts courses or the equivalent experience
• One (1) – three (3) years’ experience as a line or restaurant cook
• Ability to use all kitchen equipment and appliances
• Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of food
• Ability to read and interpret production lists, menus, and Banquet event orders
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work around high-heat ovens and cold refrigerators
• Ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items and maintain the temperature of the items
• Season and garnish food items
• Prepare all soups and sauces
• Keep the cooking area clean and in an orderly state
• Maintain inventory and order food items on a daily basis
• Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests
• Monitor and adjust performance to local competition as warranted
