About this role

The Line Cook is responsible for properly cooking all foods in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. This includes preparing, seasoning, finishing, and garnishing food following established recipes, ensuring proper preparation for cooking and serving. The role demands high attention to quality and consistency.

Day-to-day duties involve receiving and understanding food orders, and working most cooking stations across the property. Line cooks must maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary area in full compliance with State Health Regulations, and follow all recipes and control procedures.

Associates are required to adhere to all company and departmental policies, and contribute to a safe work environment by identifying and reporting hazards. Maintaining a professional reputation for the department, company, and community is essential. This role requires consistent attendance and a commitment to safety.

Opportunities for development include mastering various cooking stations and all kitchen equipment. The position requires obtaining Serv-Safe certification within thirty days, and a gaming license from the Choctaw Gaming Commission. This role provides a foundation for culinary growth in a resort setting.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or above.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; one year experience in a culinary operation preferred.
  • Serv-Safe certified or become certified within thirty days of employment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to lift or maneuver at least fifty pounds, stand/walk 90% of shift, and work on slippery surfaces with hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and understand food orders.
  • Prepare, season, finish, and garnish all food in accordance with established recipes.
  • Work at most cooking stations throughout the property and utilize all kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary area in full compliance with State Health Regulations.
  • Follow all recipes and control procedures.
  • Assist in all areas of food production as needed.
  • Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
