
About this role
As a Line Cook at Grand Living, you will enhance the resident experience through exceptional food production and quality control of all food items prepared in your station. This role is under the guidance of the Executive Chef, following community standards and The Sterling Touch®.
You will work in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen, preparing meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts from scratch. Your station requires proficiency in sauté and broiler techniques, using all kitchen equipment and utensils with manual dexterity.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship, preferred.
- One or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen, preferred.
- One or more years of experience with scratch cooking, preferred.
- Sauté and/or broiler experience, preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand English to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate with others.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms to use all kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

- Model The Sterling Touch® professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner in all interactions.
- Prepare a variety of food items including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts from scratch.
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment and utensils, including knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, and slicers.
- Follow recipes and community standards under the guidance of the Executive Chef.
- Maintain a clean and organized station, ensuring proper food storage and sanitation.
