About this role
This Line Cook role involves preparing, cooking, garnishing, and plating products served in the Café. You will be responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen work station and complying with all portion sizes, quality, and ingredient standards. The position requires availability to work weekends and nights.
Daily tasks include following recipe specifications to prepare menu items in accordance with pre-determined costs. You will prepare items by peeling, paring, coring, portioning, washing, sectioning, zesting, cutting, or scoring, and cook using methods such as braising, poaching, simmering, boiling, frying, baking, roasting, stir-frying, blanching, or broiling.
The work environment is a non-smoking, normal store setting with no physical discomfort from temperature, dust, or noise. You will work alongside a team, requisitioning items as needed and notifying stewards of ordering needs. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation is essential, and the role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Culinary arts degree preferred.
- Previous line cook experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and nights.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all portion sizes, quality, ingredient standards, and department rules.
- Follow recipe specifications to prepare menu items within pre-determined costs.
- Prepare items for cooking by peeling, paring, coring, portioning, washing, sectioning, zesting, cutting, or scoring.
- Cook all food items using methods such as braising, poaching, simmering, boiling, frying, baking, roasting, stir-frying, blanching, or broiling.
- Cover, date, and neatly store and rotate all products.
- Requisition items needed for food production and notify stewards of ordering needs.
- Maintain a sanitary workstation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
