About this role
As a Line Cook at Reunion Kitchen + Drink, you will prepare a variety of food products including meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and breads using various kitchen equipment safely. You will ensure excellent food quality and follow standard portion control and cooking methods according to our specifications.
Your daily responsibilities include monitoring proper food temperatures, rotating and storing food correctly, and maintaining a clean, sanitary workstation. You must have a great sense of urgency to assist the cooks' line during peak hours, prioritizing what is needed first.
We emphasize a team-first culture where you recognize and help fellow workers – from dishwashers to servers and managers – whenever needed. You will accept direction from management and lead team members by example, maintaining a positive attitude and high morale.

Requirements
- Restaurant experience desirable.
- Excellent knife handling skills and safe food handling procedures.
- Must be able to read and understand recipe preparation.
- Must have a current food handler’s card or any required by law in the given state.
- Must complete California workplace harassment training and/or any additional training required by law.
- Must be able to maintain our consistent food quality and high standards.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work up to 8-10 hours per day, including extensive standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent food preparation and food quality.
- Prepare a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
- Follow recipes, including standard portion control, cooking methods, and quality standards according to our specifications.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area at all times.
- Promptly report equipment and food quality problems to the management team.
- Inform the Kitchen Manager team immediately of product shortages.
- Act as a team player, recognizing and helping any fellow worker (dishwasher, cook, host, server, manager, etc.) who needs help.
- Accept direction from management and lead team members by example.
